Learning Clojure Programming ... Hello World

Clojure is a modern functional programming language designed to run on the JVM, or on .NET and JavaScript VM's. It is one of the most powerful modern languages and because of it's integration with the JVM, .NET, and JavaScript VM's, it can run of nearly any OS and / or web browser.

Just to give you your first taste of Clojure, here's your first Hello World program for Clojure.


  1. Go to tryclj.com
  2. Type in (print "hello world")
  3.  Press Enter. You should see the following.


Give me some Clojure:
(print "hello world")
hello world
nil
